After viewing the shortcomings of the current chess offerings in Kern County, Adolph Wirth developed the concept for the Kern Scholastic Chess League. In 2007, Adolph approached Chris Torres with the idea. The two of them designed a scholastic chess league of unparalleled quality and are now accepting team entries for the inaugural 2008 season of the Kern Scholastic Chess League.
